Antidote presents Detroit wunderkid Jimmy Edgar, in what is guaranteed to be one of the biggest nights of the year!!!
Jimmy started making experimental glitch and retro-future electro-funk music that made massive waves in the global underground scene in the early 2000's, signing to Warp Records at the age of 18, and carried on to release a lengthy series of club hits still in the charts today. He's also an accomplished fashion photographer, film-maker, and conceptual artist.
Endowed with a supernatural feel for futuristic funk, the Detroit native has been bleeping and grinding since he was a teenager. While his peers were worrying about their grades and popularity, Edgar was spinning alongside his hometown’s DJ heroes and programming intricate beats that were unquestionably interplanetary communication disguised as dance music.
In 2001 at the tender of 18, his hyper-sexed microchip stylings caught the ear of Warp Records, where he cranked out his brand of amped-up laptop funk for the next eight years, culminating in the full-length classic ’Color Strip’. XXX (released July 2010 on !K7) with its New Jack Swing winked as much at Minneapolis, Compton and Paris as it does Detroit or Berlin.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, raised in southern Spain, he chose early to drop out of normal society and engage in the extraordinary. Adhering more to the avant-garde side of club culture, his tracks show an otherworldly, slow and hypnotic slant on techno. Quickly developing an oeuvre of work that has appeared on Bedrock, Sci&Tec, Soma, Pokerflat, plus his own white hot new Octopus Recordings label, his tracks have gathered Beatport top ten positions and glowing reviews alike - from mags and blogs to international radio shows. His reputation for delivering huge slabs of peak time techno is snowballing. Reworked and remixed by talent like Steve Bug, Pan-Pot, Carlo Lio, Nicole Moudaber, Efdemin, Minilogue along the way, he has also dropped super big remixes for the likes of Guy J, Mauro Picotto and Gui Boratto.

It’s hard to believe but it has been 6 years since the first event in March 2007!
The events have grown from one event per month to one event per week, helping more and more people. In order to celebrate we’re having a special week with not one but TWO events:
On Tuesday 5 March (http://fcgroup.org/2013/02/13/march-5-tues-anything-goes-social-net... ) we’re hosting an "Anything Goes" birthday networking event at Suzie Wong's. You’re all invited, regardless of your background and interests, and we have lots of special prizes for our traditional lucky draw!
Where? The World of Suzie Wong, Chaoyang Park West Gate 1. ( 朝阳公园西门1号门,苏西黄俱乐部 ) More information & RSVP (http://fcgroup.org/2013/02/13/march-5-tues-anything-goes-social-net...) or simply send a text message to 13911098002 with your name and the event date.
And on Friday 8 March (http://fcgroup.org/2013/02/13/8-march-fri-the-wow-awards-ceremony/ ) we’re celebrating International Women’s Day at the Fairmont’s Ballroom with our annual WOW Awards ceremony for Wonderful Outstanding Women. The evening includes a free flow of drinks with wine courtesy of il Vittorioso and beer courtesy of Heineken, and many prizes.
The list of the WOW nominees is here (http://fcgroup.org/the-wow-awards-2013/ ) .
The Award Ceremony and Networking evening will be at the Fairmont Beijing, 8 Yong An Dong Li, Jian Guo Men Wai Avenue, Chaoyang District, Beijing ( 北京华彬费尔蒙酒店 北京市朝阳区建国门外大街永安东里8号 ).
More information & RSVP (http://fcgroup.org/2013/02/13/8-march-fri-the-wow-awards-ceremony/) or simply send a text message to 13911098002 with your name and the event date.
Then hard on their heels comes both a training session and HR themed event on 12 March, a Creative event, including a short salsa display, on 19 March and a Business & Finance event on 26 March. The information about these events is already on our website www.fcgroup.org
If you want to attend our event for free, remember to share the information about our events on the various social media websites, or by word of mouth. Each week we award free entry to the person who has shared the event with the most people. So make sure to invite everyone, and then tell us so that we can check if you are a prize winner.
So choose which event suits you best (or even better – come to all of them!)
