Champagne is the french region that gave the name of the luxurious beverage. There is an Origin Denomination controlled, that makes the difference with all other sparkling wines.

1/ Even the bottle looks like, make sure that "Champagne" is distinctly written on the front label and the dressing on the top.

2/ Have a look on the back label and check the origin (french, Champagne area)

3/ come back to the front label and check that it carries all the following information:

For infos, the first price for a Champagne bottle ina  Beijing retailer is around 350 Y rmb. Below this price, it's sure that's not a real Champagne or it had a storage problem.
