This event is for people who wish to Escape Concrete Beijing for a fund and relaxing day and who appreciate that true Networking and Netbonding is based on shared interests and experiences.

Destination: Shidu
Date: Saturday 11 July
Meet: 08:15 Outside the Hilton Beijing (Liangma Qiao)
Depart: 08:30 (sharp)
Cost: 350RMB.

Shidu is in Beijing’s Fangshan District (South West Beijing) and is about 4 kilometres from the border with Hebei.

We first discovered Shidu as a day trip destination back in 2007 and have re-visited it many times over the intervening years.

Shidu (literally 10th Crossing) is often referred to as the ‘mini River Li” (Guilin and Yangshuo) and is considered to have the most beautiful waterscape in suburban Beijing.

We believe that you too will find that the combination of the calm, winding Juma River and the pretty, green mountains that straddle it justify this reputation.

Our programme for the day includes lazily drifting along the Juma River, a BBQ lunch of chicken, lamb, fish, vegetables (and drinks), a stroll though some of the best scenic spots (think East Lake Port) and bamboo rafting.

We anticipate arriving back in Beijing by 8:00pm.

Not included: Personal Expenditure.

Recommended: Hat, Comfortable Shoes, Sunblock, Bag / Belt to carry water, Camera and Smile.

….. Especially the smile…:) !

Trip dependant on min 10 people pre-paid by Thursday 9 July

Would you like to join us on Sunday (21 June).

We are organizing a trip to Taoyuan Xiangu (Miyun).

It should be a very relaxing day far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Beijing.

Full details are of course on our website but the short version is that it will be a day in the country and includes, boating, walking, country fresh food and air, lots of nice clean air.

The day trip costs 300RMB/person and includes everything apart from personal expenditure. If you wish to come, please pay on-line as quickly as possible so that we can book the correct coach size.

We will need to know your legal name (Foreigners as per passport, Chinese as per ID card), your passport/ID number and your nationality. This is so that we can arrange insurance for you for the trip.

We will also need your mobile phone number so that we can make contact with you (for example in case you are late).

We will meet outside the Hilton Beijing, Liangma Qiao, at 08:15 and plan to depart at 08:30. If all goes to plan we will be back in Beijing at 18.30.

【2014 JUE | Talks】-Shangrila Farms Presents: Urban Beekeeping

As the machinations of China's booming industries continue to ravish the environment and dull our cities, counter-movements to bring the Earth and sustainable living practices into the home have blossomed. Shangrila Farms - within one of our favourite venues provided by Re-Up - will be offering an exciting talk on what they call Urban Beekeeping. That's right - bees in the city. Participants will firstly learn how to differentiate between bees-knees honey products and nasties. Then the hosts will talk through the nuts and bolts of setting up an urban beehive. Q&As will follow.

March 9th, afternoon (TBC)

Re-Up venue

Sat 30 June – A Relaxing Day Drifting along the White River

Date: Sat 30 June 2012

Time: 08:30am

Meeting Point: Outside the Hilton Beijing

Escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Beijing and escape with us to Huairou District in northeastern Beijing. A mere 95km drive from downtown concrete Beijing takes us to the White River (Bai He) area with lush forests, clean air, and pure water. Come and swap the black asphalt for an area with 75% green vegetation cover. The area is popular for all sorts of outdoors sports including rock climbing, hiking and rafting. We will be doing the latter so prepare your Popeye and Olive Oil persona as we “row, row row the boat gently down the stream” for a 8km stretch that includes both quiet and rush moments.

We will not be doing anything too demanding, if my computer shape body can do it so can you, but even so this trip is not suitable for pregnant women (or even pregnant men).

This FCGroup daytrip is not yet on the tourist map and (like all FCGroup trips) is suitable for both foreigners and even the most local of local Chinese. This time the trip will conclude with what Lucy (Achinatours) has promised to be a magnificent local feast to reward those who dared to move out of the safety of downtown Beijing.

Time Returns

Adoptaman in partnership with Study Abroad China is proposing a trip back to Chinese Roots and Ancient Culture. The trip will take place in Langzhong city, Sichuan Province, China. We choosed this City because it's a part of China's famous 4 ancient cities, it has over a 2300 years history, the streets & buildings was maintained and still features the ancient characteristics as it was during the Tang, Song, Ming and Qing dynasties.
