Beijing Photographer Night at DADA

The Beijing Photographers Night, curated by Matthew Niederhauser, in association with JUE Festival, will feature six short presentations of personal projects by some of the city's leading photographers. Images will be projected on Dada's large screen and will delve into work from all realms of the medium, including but not limited to photojournalism, fashion, commercial, and fine art. The final lineup for this inaugural event will be ... Aluss/阿鲁期, Lukas Birk, Adam Dean, Ren Hang/任航, Matthew Niederhauser, Sim Chi Yin.

Entry is free, please arrive early, doors open 7pm. The series of photo sets will be screened several times thru the night.


Bio:

Matthew Niederhauser's interest in Asia and photography emerged in high school with Mandarin courses, late nights in the darkroom, and a homestay in Beijing. After returning to America and studying anthropology at Columbia University, Matthew split time at the National Committee on US-China Relations and International Center of Photography before returning to to commit himself to documentary projects and other creative outlets. Since then his work on urban development and youth culture photography has appeared in The New Yorker, National Geographic, Guardian Observer, The New York Times Magazine, and Time Magazine amongst many others. More importantly, Matthew is not always so bizarrely situated as shown and finds writing about himself in the third-person more than disconcerting.

JR,  I support Yinnon for the wukesong market. You can go there with some prices in mind as the competition is quite fierce between the different shops. Besides you could eventually find some second hand sometimes almost have been seldom used. I bought there a brand new 17-35 2.8 for a bargain about year ago.

Another idea is to look at Rayi shop ( Dawanglu subway - at Soho building, second floor ) They have some choice to look at and they are not so 'pushy' compared to wukesong. You can also look at their web on www.rayi.cn

Pricewise, they would align on wukesong prices if you discuss a bit and their products are genuine with international warranty.
